Chai ka Masala

My grandma used to make this and she passed on this tradition to my mom and now to me. We always add this flavorful Chai Masala made from our traditional Indian spices – into our morning tea. Not only it’s a great way to start the day; but we feel wonderful all through the day.

Ingredients :
Mildly roast & churn below spices :
Approx 20 gm Cardamom (Elaichi)
1 Star Anise (Chakra Phool)
1/2 Nutmeg (Jaiphal)
Approx 5 gm Black Pepper (Kali Mirch)
10-15 Cloves (Laung)
Approx 20 gm Cinnamon (Dalchini)
60 gm Dry Ginger Powder (Sonth)
To Make 2 cup Chai :-
1 cup Water
4 tsp Sugar (or as per taste)
2 tsp Chai Patti
Approx 1/2 tsp Chai Masala
1 cup Milk

Method :
Mildly dry roast below spices :
Approx 20 gm Cardamom (Elaichi)
1 Star Anise (Chakra Phool)
1/2 Nutmeg (Jaiphal)
Approx 5 gm Black Pepper (Kali Mirch)
10-15 Cloves (Laung)
Approx 20 gm Cinnamon (Dalchini)
Let it cool down & churn to make powder
Transfer in a mixing bowl
Add 60 gm Dry Ginger Powder (Sonth) and mix it
To Make 2 cup Chai with this Masala:-
In a pan, take 1 cup Water
Add 4 tsp Sugar & 2 tsp Chai Patti
Once boiled, add approx 1/2 tsp Chai Masala
Again boil it to release its aroma
Add 1 cup Milk, bring it to a boil and your Masaledaar Chai is ready!
