How to make a HEART SHAPED cake with only one round and one square pan! Irresistible Chocolate Cake With Buttercream Frosting!

This is an easy recipe for incredibly moist and delicious chocolate cake! Top it with chocolate buttercream frosting and you will be in complete bliss at first bite! I made this as a one-layer cake in the shape of a heart for Valentine’s Day, but you can make it as a two or three layer cake for birthdays, or any occasion. The cake stays moist even if you refrigerate it! Recipe is below, and instructions on assembling the cake into a heart shape is in the video. Please note: the heart-shaped cake measures 13” x 13”, you will need a large plate for assembling and serving it. I used an oval tray which measures 13.5” x 17.5”. Peace Love And Tasty Eats!

Irresistible Chocolate Cake With Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

Recipe for cake:

Preheat oven 350° F

3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup oil
2 teaspoons vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups water

-For heart shaped cake: use one 8-inch square pan and one 8-inch round pan

-For two-layer cake: use two 9-inch pans
-For three-layer cake: use three 8-inch cake pans
-For one-layer cake: use a 13×9 inch pan

Recipe for Chocolate Buttercream Frosting:

9 tablespoons butter, softened
3 1/2 cups confectioner’s sugar
1 1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup milk
3 teaspoons vanilla extract

Makes 3 1/2 cups frosting
