Hi lovelies, it is time for a new cake basics tutorial and today I want to take the mystery out of making a chocolate drip. I was first really intimidated by this technique but once you learn the tips and tricks it turns out to be a very easy technique. Chocolate drip cakes might not be as trending anymore as they used to but this is my favourite cake decoration technique as I think it goes with so many other designs and decorations and it just looks great. I hope this tutorial will help you to perfect chocolate drip and will give you the confidence to create beautiful chocolate drip cakes. I used 30g good quality dark chocolate (70%) and about 30-50g cream. This was enough to make the chocolate drips and to cover the top of the cake (16cm cake). When making a bigger portion calculate always first 1:1 chocolate to cream ratio and make sure to have some extra cream on hand as you will most likely need to add more to get the right consistency (see video).
