Here the method of preparation of the Split Chickpea Bell Pepper Rice is given
Preparation
Heat the pan and pour in 10 ml of oil. Put in the fennel seeds and saute well. Add the pieces of one onion and saute well till they lose their pinkish color. Add 25 gms of garlic and 25 gms of ginger and saute and mix well. Add the pieces of one bell pepper and mix well. Add the pieces of one tomato and mix well. Add salt to taste and mix well. Add 100 gms of split chickpea or urad dal or kadalapaprippu and mix and saute well. Add 250 ml of Coconut milk and saute and mix well. Let the mixture cook for 15 minutes if in the pressure cooker or 25 minutes if in an open pan. After cooking for the required time add a cup of washed rice and mix well. Cook in the pressure cooker for 6 more minutes . Take off the flame and serve
